How We Work

Our goal is federal policies that support families, we call them ‘Care’ policies. These policies include paid family and medical leave, paid safe and sick days, universal childcare, reproductive justice, and home-based community care. At current the USA is one of the only nations without national care policies. This country prefers to let each state decide on how to address care policies. Then many states defer to individual companies to decide. This creates vulnerable employees and jeopardizes the families they care for.

To impact what happens in the White House, we must first build the case for lifting care policies in each state. This is where our state coalition partners come in.

Our partners are the backbone to our movement. They are the ones who engage regularly with their communities and voters. They also liaise with local politicians to enact care policies at state level.
