Hello, my name is (your name) from (city), and I’m contacting you because I am deeply concerned about proposed cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security and SNAP (nutrition Program). The stakes couldn’t be higher. We’re facing $715 billion in Medicaid cuts over the next decade with a direct attack on immigrant children and families, the elderly and nutrition services. These cuts would rip healthcare away from millions of Americans – all to give big tax cuts to billionaires.

For millions of others, Medicaid covers 41% of all births in the United States, nearly half of children with special health care needs, and 5 in 8 nursing home residents.

Between the cuts to vital services and our essential departments like CDC, US Education Dept. and others,  President Trump and the Congress has taken a hammer to the policies that help us survive – all for tax cuts to billionaires. Too many of us will be left behind. Our country is changing rapidly for the worse and I need your help to protect our rights, families, children and civil society. I need you to put the nation and its people over the profits of billionaires and wealthy corporations.

Can I count on you to honor your oath of office? And protect healthcare, food and nutrition and other vital services?

1. Protects children, the elderly and other vulnerable populations from policies so that Americans can thrive and care for each other. 
2. Protects those living on the margins with healthcare, food access, fair and low-income and housing.
3. Recognizes that all of us are entitled to justice under the law regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, religion, status of citizenship, and economic standing.
4. Ensures that billionaires and corporations pay their fair share in taxes so the rest of us can thrive.
